Bio:
Singer/songwriter, beat-boxer, and guitarist are just some of the many talents of flame-haired Ed Sheeran. He has a diverse blend of music ranging from acoustic pop, folk and hip-hop that has captured the hearts of everyone from the underground grime scene to American Oscar winners.

The Orange Room was Sheeran’s first EP, which he debuted while still in school. By the age of sixteen he had released his first two albums, his self-titled and Want Some. Sheeran decided to move to London in order to gain more live experience, which prompted Jamie Foxx to turn his attention to Sheeran soon after his performance of his original song “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” on Youtube channel SB.tv that gained half a million viewers.

The video also lead to mainstream rapper Example inviting Sheeran to tour with him throughout the U.K. His fan base began to grow more and more through YouTube, Sheeran was now getting credit from The Independent Newspaper and even Elton John. He then went on the release three EP’s in 2010, Loose Change, Songs I Wrote With Amy and Ed Sheeran: Live at Bedford. Sheeran released his final independent EP on January 9, 2011; No. 5 Collaborations Project , which gained mainstream attention for reaching number 2 in the iTunes chart, without any promotion or label. After signing with Atlantic Records he became only the third artist to score a Top 75 album purely on download sales.

Sheeran’s debut album was a massive hit, selling over a million copies in the U.K. alone in just about six months, and charting highly in many other countries. This album alone won him two Brit Awards for British Breakthrough Act and Best British Male Solo Artist. Sheeran also was nominated for Best New Artist at the 56th Grammy Awards. The song “I See Fire” also saw fame when it was featured on the closing credits of the hit movie The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Sophomore album “X” was released in 2015 and went straight to number one in both the U.K. and the U.S.
